In this part you can find information about submissions, submission guidelines, poster guidelines and presentations.
Abstract Submissions
Abstracts should not exceed 200 words. Please send your abstracts in compliance with the ICOVACS2008 Submission Guide & Template. Under the abstract text, specify keywords and the topic(s) of the conference that you will focus on.
Full Paper Submissions
Papers should not exceed 8 pages in length. They should be written as continuous expository narrative in a chapter or article style - not as lists of points or a PowerPoint presentation.
Papers will go through a blind review process and they may be rejected if (a) the content is deemed inappropriate for ICOVACS2008, (b) they are not written in acceptable English, or (c) they do not comply with the formatting requirements.
One can only appear as the author and/or co-author of 2 papers, at most. Please do not send more than 2 papers on which you appear as the author (or co-author).
Please remember that only the presented papers are to be published in a fully refereed proceedings book. This means that if you are appointed for a presentation, you should be at the conference venue to present your paper, otherwise your paper will not be published. This also means that the style and structure of your text should be relatively formal. For instance, you should not submit a verbatim transcript of your oral presentation, such as ‘Today I want to speak to you about ...’.
Papers should be thoroughly checked and proof-read before submission, both by the author and a critical editorial friend.
Submission Guide and Template
We require presenters to use ICOVACS2008 Submission Guide & Template in Microsoft Word for both their abstracts and full papers. We are not able to accept papers that have not used the template.
Submission Process
Completed papers should be emailed as an attachment to <icovacs@ieu.edu.tr>. The deadline for abstract submission is February 1, 2008, and full paper submission is May 16, 2006.
Once your paper has been received and checked to ensure that corresponding files open you will be sent an official receipt notice via email. If you do not receive an official receipt confirmation within fifteen working days of submission please contact the conference secretariat immediately.
Transfer of Copyrights and Publishing Agreement
Presenters are not obliged to publish in the Conference proceedings. However, if you do decide to take this option, publication will be based on the transfer of copyrights and publishing agreement that can be downloaded by clicking on the link.
Oral Presentations
- All speakers are required to prepare PowerPoint presentations on a memory stick or CD-ROM.
- Technical support will be available to require verification that your presentation is functioning OK.
We recommend that you bring a backup presentation format to cover the possibility of luggage loss and/or incompatibility.
